Activities

Spanish

Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world with 420 million people speaking it.

It is never too soon to start children learning another language and at The Robin Montessori we introduce the Spanish language through a variety of activities, books, games and songs.

Yoga

Yoga at a very early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity that is non-competitive. By doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect deeply with the inner self and their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves.

Mindfulness and Meditation

Mindfulness can help children improve their abilities to pay attention, to calm down when they are upset and to make better decisions. Through simple exercises we teach the children to connect, breath, move, focus and relax. Children begin to notice what their body feels like, what their ears are hearing, their thoughts and anything else that it is around them and happening now.

Art

Through art, the child develops imagination, creativity and their ability to use different media and materials.

Children develop life skills through art activities such as communication skills, problem -solving, social and emotional skills, fine motor skills and self-expression and creativity.

Music And Movement

Exposing children to music from early childhood helps them strengthen social and emotional skills as well as develop better fine and gross motor skills.

Children love exploring sounds through singing, moving and playing instruments. They love dancing and singing along playing games that require body movements such as clapping and stamping or jumping.

Outdoor

It is essential that the child learns about the real world, appreciates nature and gains an understanding of the world we live.

Outdoor environments fulfil children’s basic needs for freedom, adventure, experimentation, risk-taking, and just being children (Greenman, 1993).
